KUON
KUON
Designer: Ishibashi Shinichiro
After graduating from Bunka Fashion College, he studied under a tailor in Marunouchi, Tokyo, and then worked as a pattern maker for a Paris Collection brand. Since 2014, he has worked as a freelancer, designing and patterning for numerous brands. In 2016, he launched his KUON collection.
"New things get old, but beautiful things remain beautiful forever"
It comes from the Japanese word "kuon," meaning "distant past or future" or "eternity."
The essence of the brand is to incorporate the history and culture of vintage clothing and fabrics found all over the world, but not be bound by those frameworks, and to pursue a simple, unpretentious coolness that will not change over time.
KUON as envisioned by Yuuma, owner of Inoyashiro
Rather than "Japanese clothing," they create "Western clothing" while incorporating elements of Japanese culture. Flat patterns are to be found elsewhere, and they propose clothing with beautiful, three-dimensional pattern work.
We offer products that skillfully incorporate timeless fabrics such as sashiko and boro.
