KUON
KUON
[Designer] Shinichiro Ishibashi
After graduating from Bunka Fashion College, he apprenticed at a tailor in Marunouchi, Tokyo. He then worked as a pattern maker for a Paris Collection brand, and in 2016, he launched his collection as "KUON."
[Concept]
The brand name comes from the Japanese word "kuon" (distant past or future, eternity).
With the motto "New things get old, but beautiful things remain beautiful forever," the brand's essence is to incorporate the history and culture of vintage clothing and fabrics from around the world, yet not be confined by them, pursuing a simple, undeniable coolness that remains unchanged even as times change.

Yoinoya Store Owner Matsugami talks about the appeal of KUON
This brand masterfully incorporates wonderful traditional fabrics, such as "sashiko" and "boro," which have been cherished throughout Japanese history, into contemporary designs.
What makes KUON's clothing so excellent is that despite using so many Japanese materials, it doesn't settle for a flat, ethnic "Japanese clothing" aesthetic, but rather elevates it into refined, modern "Western clothing." Thanks to designer Ishibashi's outstanding skills, cultivated at the forefront of tailoring and Paris Collection, flat patterns are nowhere to be seen, replaced by three-dimensional pattern work that beautifully conforms to the body.
While evoking the warmth and culture of traditional Japanese craftsmanship, once you put it on, it is undeniably urban and stylish. Please experience this unique creation, a perfect fusion of historical depth and modern fashionability.
